Coping With Golfing Vacation Disasters

If you are planning a trip for the sole purpose of golfing, you are most likely taking a few risks. Most of the time people in your situation hope that nothing disastrous happens on the trip, and that the group will have a calm couple of days to play a few holes. However, I have found in my past golf trip experiences that when something bad happens, that is what truly brings the group together and creates pleasant memories that everyone will treasure for years to come.

Of course, when something bad happens it never seems fun at the moment unless you are truly a die hard optimist. If you are stuck in a hotel room with all of your golf buddies and it is raining too hard to play golf, it can seem like a rather unpleasant experience at the time. But in a few months, you will look back and remember how you all played poker to keep yourselves busy. It will seem like it was even more fun than golfing could have been! Being stuck inside because of rain can be a truly bonding experience, and you will find that you know your friends better than you have ever known them before.

To ensure that any disasters will end up being beneficial to your time, you need to take several preventative measures. You should always have a backup plan in case the original one falls through. If you miss your flight, you can take a greyhound bus! If the weather is too rainy and the course gets shut down, you can go to a nearby museum! As long as you take every possibility into consideration, you will be well prepared to cope with anything that might come your way. That is the real way to ensure fun: simply adapt easily.

Of course, you should never wish a disaster upon your trip. Although it will make for better memories, sometimes they can cost a lot of money or time that you have invested into making the trip possible. I think that the main thing you should remember is that even if they do happen, you should not be crestfallen because of them. Your golf vacation is a time to have lots of fun and escape from work and the regular stresses of life. Therefore you should not let something so trivial as a bit of rain ruin it.
